“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” (Matthew 6: 25-26) (NIV)
This Quiet Day will look at the teachings of Jesus on the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 6, where he asked the crowd to look at and consider the birds of the air and lilies of the field, and learn lessons from them about His provision and care.
We will visit a farm or garden where birds and flowers are plentiful and reflect on the following:
What lessons can we learn from the birds and wild flowers?
- Seeking the kingdom of God and his righteousness
- Thanking God for our daily bread
- Turning away from worry to trusting in God
- Times for stillness, prayer, creative activities such as writing and artwork, will be included in the programme
